NHC CEO Marc Boutin on Panel About Bayh-Dole Act

06/06/2019

In 1980, the Bayh-Dole Act was passed. Since then, this piece of legislation has helped address gaps in the intellectual property framework surrounding federally-funded research and helps foster a robust ecosystem for public/private partnerships. It also has helped convey benefits of federally-funded research to the public and assured sustained public and policymaker support for federal research funding, even during an ever-changing fiscal and economic climate.

As the 40th Anniversary of this act approaches, Research!America is hosting an “interactive panel discussion to touch on the history and impact of the Bayh-Dole Act and explore the implications for science policy going forward.”

NHC CEO, Marc Boutin, JD, will join four other panelists on June 13 in Washington, DC, to discuss the Bayh-Dole Act and how it has played a pivotal role in scientific and technological progress.
