Director Medical Content Development, National Minority Quality Forum

We maintain a unique database consisting of over 5 billion completely anonymized patient records that reports on care delivered for 72,000 conditions.  We are looking for an innovative, entrepreneurial Director of Medical Content Development to provide operational leadership for the development, launch and distribution of content built upon this rich data archive. Users of the content include physicians, organized medicine, patient advocates, academic researchers, and industry and policymakers.  This position offers an opportunity to join a team of out-of-the box thinkers who are seeking to bring a new voice to American health care.  This position is for someone who wants to take a leadership role in publishing evidence-based, patient-centric information that moves us toward a healthy economy whose prime directive is to conserve high-quality, long lives.

The Director will oversee the creation of content assets in many formats, including web, mobile, and print, as well as audio and visual. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and solution developer, with the experience and motivation to develop engaging content and the ability to recruit and manage academic thought leaders.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Specific Responsibilities • • Oversee and provide for the development of educational content for a diverse audience that ranges from lay to professional • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with thought leaders, investigators and key opinion leaders • Onboard new, and coach existing, content team members to maximize their talents and assignments • Develop the strategy, approach, and format, ensuring all online content is developed on time and in line with organizational strategic goals, medical guidelines, and trends • Analyze business processes and ensure that functional and technical requirements are validated and documented through standard operating procedures, process charts, project charters and project plans • Review editorial and clinical content for accuracy and relevance • Manage internally and externally written content to ensure that it meets quality standards and is in alignment with customer expectations and medical, legal and regulatory requirements • Commission and contract authors and editors, as needed • Provide cross-departmental medical support and expertise for all appropriate initiatives, partner and client presentations, business strategy market research, and analytics • Identify and implement content development and other process improvements in collaboration with product development and other content and learning colleagues • Stay informed of regulatory requirements, guidelines and current trends through familiarity with relevant recent literature, and regular attendance at national and select regional medical congresses

Periodic travel to support project needs may be required from time to time.


Qualifications • • Master degree (MSN, MS, MPH, MEd, or relevant field); preferred advanced degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, NP, PhD, DNP) • 3+ years of experience in the design and development of medical content for healthcare professionals or the lay public • Creative in developing user-centric and interactive medical content • Possesses excellent project management and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail • Strong and up-to-date general knowledge in the medical sciences • Proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint
