The Innovation and Value Initiative Foundation, Inc. (IVI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission focused on advancing the science, practice, and use of patient-centered health technology assessment to support decisions that make healthcare more meaningful and equitable. IVI works toward that mission through engagement with patients and stakeholders, testing new methods in healthcare outcomes research and economic evaluation, and serving as a learning laboratory for health technology assessment. The Opportunity
In support of its mission, IVI has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Patient Engagement to lead multiple programmatic initiatives and to strengthen our collaboration with patients, caregivers, and other stakeholders. IVI seeks an individual with experience working in health equity and building community partnerships.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Overall team lead on patient/patient organization engagement and patient-related components of research
- Serve as project director for patient-centered programs for the organization, including committee management, outreach and engagement, facilitation, content development and synthesis, grant reporting, and collaboration with team members
- Serve as advisor on other projects and initiatives where patient engagement is a key component
- Build awareness of IVI with stakeholders in patient, caregiver and other stakeholder communities through external relations, committee or coalition participation, communications strategies and other engagement
- Conduct presentations, meeting participation, webinars and related events to build networks that support IVI mission, including membership, research partnerships and other initiatives
- Expand and deploy IVI’s patient engagement evaluation tools and strengthen the organization’s learning approach to build partnerships
- Collaborate with team members to build partnerships with other organizations and individual leaders and contributors in the field
- Collaborate with communications and research teams to conduct interviews, write commentaries, blog posts, and contribute to scientific research papers and research and project grants
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-12 years of working experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., public health, social sciences, economics, etc.)
- Strong facilitation skills for leading coalitions, collaboratives, community advisory boards, and other stakeholder groups
- Familiarity with health outcomes research, patient engagement, health equity, and health technology assessment preferred
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, including presentation development, writing, and public speaking
- Project management, meeting planning and facilitation, and relationship building experience
- Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues in a virtual environment and work across teams and projects
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
