Steve Chaplain has been working in nonprofit finance and operations for more than 15 years. As the National Health Council’s (NHC) Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Chaplain oversees the financial, budgeting, HR, and IT functions at the NHC. Chaplain also provides technical assistance to the Voluntary Health Agencies (VHAs) pertaining to financial management issues of their organizations.
Prior to joining the NHC in December 2020, Chaplain was CFO at Voto Latino where he oversaw all finance, budget, HR, and IT for both 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations. Prior to that, Chaplain oversaw all finance, budget, HR, and IT operations at Social Progress Imperative. Chaplain has spent the past 15 years helping local, national, and global non-profit organizations realize their missions so they can make a meaningful contribution to their constituencies, members, and the public at large.
Chaplain earned his MBA in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and his MA in Nonprofit Management at the School for International Training in Brattleboro, VT. Chaplain also served in the Peace Corps.
