This role is responsible for providing direction and operational support for The Trevor Project’s annual integrated direct/digital fundraising campaign strategy as well as serving as the point of contact for the organization’s fundraising agency/vendor(s) of record. You will have primary responsibility for the implementation of all integrated direct/digital fundraising plans and have oversight and project management responsibility for all direct & digital appeals. You’ll work closely with the Individual Philanthropy, Development Operations, and the Marketing, Communications & Content Teams – ensuring alignment with organizational messages, supporting donor data management, and executing complex fundraising campaigns.
- Previous direct response marketing experience at an agency, nonprofit, or higher education institution. At least 3-5 years experience in this area.
- You have deep knowledge of both the art and science of direct response marketing and a proven track record as a fundraiser with individual gifts.
- Proficiency in:
- Direct marketing best practices including A/B testing; developing solid fundraising tests and controls and writing and editing fundraising appeals, for digital and print.
- Prior experience using digital tools including email marketing and SMS/mobile giving platforms
- Analytical with a high level of confidence working with data and developing data segmentation
- Familiarity with using the Google platform including Google Docs, Sheets, and Presentations.
- Keen understanding of the importance of data in direct marketing. Comfortable and swift with using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- You have a strong facility with fundraising software (Salesforce preferred) and a broad understanding of donor acquisition, retention, digital giving, and moves management.
- You have used and can develop HTML/emails and SMS messages in various platforms such as MailChimp and texting platforms.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
