Ivory Allison, American Liver Foundation
Ivory Allison is the National Director of Community Impact at the Liver Foundation. In her role, Allison leverages strategic partnerships with medical institutions, government, and corporations to advance the organization’s north stars for diversity, equity, and inclusion in advancing health outcomes. She also manages the development, operations, and completion of innovative nationwide programs such as the Pediatric Liver Disease Initiative, the Liver Cancer Conference, and the Autoimmune and Rare Liver Disease Summits. Allison served as Mid-Atlantic Executive Director for 10 years prior to her current position.
Fiorella Carhuaz, American Liver Foundation
Fiorella Carhuaz is a liver health specialist working on Connection to Care for the Think Liver, Think Life (TLTL) initiative. Fiorella has been a Certified Health Education Specialist since 2013 and has degrees in Psychology and Community Health Education. Fiorella is bilingual in English and Spanish and serves as the liaison between ALF and screening sites, primary care physicians and other patient serving organizations. She provides health education and resources to TLTL participants and offers options for managing their health. Fiorella hails from Richmond, Virginia where she served as the poisoning prevention educator for most of the state. She relocated from Oregon a few years ago in where she provided poisoning prevention to all Oregonians, Alaskans and Guamanians. In her decade long career, she has explored work in the DEI arena and has worked with rural Federally Qualified Health centers serving as their only health educator. Fiorella has a passion for health communications and has led nationwide social media campaigns.
Carissa Hickok, American Liver Foundation
Carissa Hickok is the National Manager of Professional Education and Outreach for the American Liver Foundation (ALF). She oversees the organization’s national public health campaign, Think Liver Think Life, which aims to ensure every American understands their risk for liver disease, receives the appropriate screening and care coordination and feels well-informed and supported throughout their liver journey. Carissa has 25 years’ experience promoting healthy lifestyles with individuals and businesses, community engagement and health policy change. Prior to joining ALF, Carissa spent 15 years with the Florida Department of Health where she was a Branch Director overseeing school health, tobacco prevention & control, community health improvement and COVID-19 response. She holds a Master of Education degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Promotion with an emphasis in Wellness and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®).
