Position overview

The Manager of Development is a key member of the PAN Foundation’s Development team and plays a critical role in building relationships and growing support from both new and existing donors to support PAN’s expanding mission programs.

As the Manager of Development, you will report to the Director of Development and be responsible for growing a portfolio of corporate donors. As a front-line fundraiser, you will represent PAN at conferences and events and speak to attendees about PAN’s mission programs and their impact. You will build interest in supporting PAN’s work with donors and constituents. Your work will support the director in identifying new donor prospects, taking meetings with donors, submitting and following up on funding proposals, and ensuring communications with donors are timely and on point.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

Revenue Generation

  • Manage the fundraising process and maintain records of revenue generated and disbursements of funds for a portfolio of donors.
  • Contribute to identifying opportunities to optimize revenue streams and improve profitability.
  • Assist Development team in identifying, developing, and curating creative, individually tailored written and/or alternative media presentations for solicitations from potential corporate donors and foundations.
  • Draft grant requests and proposals.
  • Shepherd donation agreements through internal and external review processes.

Donor Relations Management 

  • Serve as primary point of contact for donor inquiries.
  • Assist the Director of Development with strategizing and managing donor relationships by drafting and developing communications and presentations, providing support with donor meetings, and attending industry events and conferences.
  • Ensure all donor communications are compliant under all relevant government statutes and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate fund changes to donors and Director of Development.
  • Work in collaboration with PAN’s data analytics team to modify, review, and disseminate monthly donor reports.
  • Act as a liaison between development and other PAN internal stakeholders (e.g., clinical affairs, advocacy & engagement, compliance, diversity & health equity, operations, finance, and marketing & communications).
  • Utilize Salesforce for all donor related activities as PAN’s CRM, such as tracking donations, filing documents, and recording donor interactions and communications.
  • Provide donors with quarterly donation summaries.

Program Intelligence 

  • Assist the Director of Development with the identification of new disease funds and donor opportunities by monitoring healthcare industry news and events (e.g., pipeline development, drug approvals, policy changes and acquisitions) and analyzing data trends.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and developments.
  • Monitor activities and developments with other charitable assistance foundations and maintain reports to management on those activities.

Performance Analysis

  • Provide weekly account updates to Director of Development.
  • Monitors and analyze KPIs to measure progress against revenue goals.
  • Reconcile accounts payable with finance department.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development.

Qualifications

Work experience

  • At least 3-5 years experience as a front-line fundraiser, responsible for revenue generation.
  • At least two years of experience in the healthcare industry.

  • High level of professionalism; strong interpersonal skills and poise.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • High-energy individual; an avid and effective networker with a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Well organized and keen ability to prioritize opportunities and day-to-day work.
  • Demonstrated analytical, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use CRM systems to track and manage relationships, experience with Salesforce a plus.
  • Preferred: Understands reimbursement and access issues with federally insured patients (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) including the regulatory landscape for patient assistance programs.
  • Ability to excel in a small team setting.

Travel

  • 15-25% of time
