05/13/2019
The NHC team, led by Dr. Eleanor Perfetto, NHC Executive Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, and Dr. Elisabeth Oehrlein, NHC Senior Director of Research and Programs, will present one workshop, one panel presentation, and three poster presentations at ISPOR 2019 in New Orleans next week. Topics include good practices to improve Real-World Data, the controversial QALY, dementia-related drug therapy, reducing patient engagement roadblocks, and health economics and value assessment training.
According to the ISPOR Conference website, this year’s theme Rapid. Disruptive. Innovative: A New Era in HEOR connects the continual shift in the global health care landscape with essential developments in HEOR and healthcare access mechanisms. A comprehensive scientific program will address vital questions on topics including rapid advances in information technology, medical technology, and targeted pharmaceuticals combined with transformations in regulatory decision making, health insurance, payment, and delivery systems.
On Monday, May 20, Dr. Perfetto will be on a panel titled, The Controversial QALY: Is There a Middle Ground in the Debate? On Tuesday, May 21, Dr. Oehrlein will lead a discussion on Leveraging Patient-Provided Information to Improve Real-World Evidence: Getting to Good Practices on How.
