Member Spotlight: Servier U.S.
By Katherine Scott, Senior Manager, Membership Services and Certifications
Servier Pharmaceuticals is a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company with current treatments for patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Building out their U.S. presence in 2018, with their headquarters in Boston, MA, they are driven by discovery in oncology and potentially other areas of unmet medical need. They leverage Servier Group’s global portfolio and seek acquisitions, licensing deals, and partnerships and are poised to be an innovative leader serving U.S. patients and caregivers.
Servier Pharmaceuticals is the U.S. subsidiary of Servier Group, an international pharmaceutical company governed by a non-profit foundation. As a privately held company, Servier has the freedom to maintain a steady focus on the most urgent needs of patients. Their independence allows them to be more forward thinking and make sustainable choices for the long-term. With this unique operating model, the company can be deliberate about putting patients ahead of profits. In fact, Servier reinvests 25 percent of its revenue into Research and Development each year.
At Servier, everything they do is about meeting patients’ needs – whatever they may be pre-, during, and post-treatment. They are passionate about survivorship. Servier joins a growing list of first movers and contributors in the international community who are shaping and building the conditions for a new age of patient engagement. Their participation enables them to create and adopt new tools, skills, and practices to meet the needs of patients more quickly and effectively. To ensure patients are at the forefront of every decision, from business to care, Servier launched a Patient Expert Council that serves as an advisory board on key company decisions. Comprised of patients, caregivers, advocates, and other experts on the patient experience, the Council plays a key role as they continue to build out their U.S. presence.
Servier is honored to be a member of the NHC. The company works to ensure that patients and priority policy initiatives are an integral part of their everyday work, and as a member of the NHC, they have the opportunity to learn continuously what patient and policy issues are of critical importance.
