The NHC Relaunches Revamped Event Professionals Affinity Group

By: Racquel Codling, Senior Director, Meetings & Events

The NHC’s Event Professionals Affinity Group consists of meeting and event planners who organize events for NHC member organizations, including Patient Organizations that advocate for people and their family caregivers living with chronic diseases and disabilities.

The NHC is expanding the Affinity Group to increase participation, bring diverse perspectives, and enhance the exchange of ideas. The Affinity Group offers a platform for meeting and event planners to share their experiences, recommendations, best practices, and challenges related to in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. Past discussion topics have included:

    • Lessons learned from COVID-19 protocols established at events
    • Accommodating attendees’ dietary needs at meetings and events
    • Developing internal policies surrounding the use of AI Notetaking Software at meetings
    • Preparing speakers for your event – Speaker Prep Calls, Travel Policies, etc.

We are actively recruiting additional meeting and event planners to join us! The goal is to meet three times a year (Spring, Summer, and Fall), whether virtually via Zoom Meetings or in person at the NHC Office.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in joining or learning more about the NHC’s Event Professionals Affinity Group, please contact me via email.

A reminder that you can always find confirmed Affinity Group meeting dates on the NHC Meetings & Events Calendar
