Understanding the patient’s experiences living with disease is critical as it enables understanding the context, the natural history of the disease from the patient perspective, and what outcomes are important to patients. In 2022, the NHC published its Patient Experience Mapping Toolbox (PEMT) to capture these data. Since the launch of the Patient Experience Mapping Toolbox, the NHC has conducted various studies using the PEMT including pilots across multiple chronic conditions.
