The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) has retained The Alexander Group to recruit its President and Chief Executive Officer.
NAAF serves the community of people affected by alopecia areata, an autoimmune skin condition resulting in hair loss as well as emotional and psychological distress. The last few years have seen exciting developments for the alopecia areata community, with the introduction of three new treatments and ongoing groundbreaking research into new therapies.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
The President & CEO plays a critical role in leading this 40+ year old organization, with full responsibility and accountability for the success of the NAAF. They work in partnership with the Board of Directors to formulate and pursue the organization’s vision and mission.
This executive will oversee operations and provide overall direction for internal and external policy and program development, serving as the chief spokesperson for NAAF and as the primary liaison with outside stakeholders, including the medical, scientific, and broader NAAF community.
Qualifications
This executive will ideally have 15 or more years of experience in health-related association management and the ability to balance inspirational and strategic leadership with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, or related graduate degree, is preferred. The most important qualification is a passion for helping others, as that passion is at the core of everything NAAF does.
