WASHINGTON, DC– December 17, 2020 — Steve Chaplain has recently joined the National Health Council (NHC) as the organization’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Chaplain, as a member of the NHC’s senior leadership team, will provide strategic direction and implement day-to-day financial, human resources, and information technology management functions.

“We are delighted for Steve to join the NHC team,” said Eleanor Perfetto, PhD, MS, NHC’s Interim Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives. “Steve brings a wealth of not only financial knowledge and experience, but also deep experience in human resource and other management functions.”

Chaplain has an extensive history of more than 10 years in nonprofit management and strategy development. Most recently, Chaplain served as Chief Financial Officer at Voto Latino in Washington, DC. In that position, Chaplain built and managed Voto Latino’s budget and finances, and co-led fundraising activities at the corporate, foundational, and individual level. Chaplain also brings unique experience in overseeing operational processes for 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations to his new position at the NHC.

Prior to his role at Voto Latino, Chaplain served as Operations Manager for the Social Progress Imperative, located in Washington, DC. At the Social Progress Imperative, Chaplain successfully managed financial systems, and developed a three-year organizational growth strategy to increase organization visibility. Chaplain also has substantial past experience in operations and budget management at a variety of organizations including Youth Service America, and the Latin American Youth Center.

Chaplain earned his master’s degree in Business Administration/Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University. Chaplain also earned a master’s degree in Non-Profit Management from the School for International Training and a bachelor’s degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.
