Marc Boutin, JD, Announces Departure from National Health Council; Dr. Eleanor Perfetto Named Interim CEO

WASHINGTON, DC– National Health Council (NHC) Chief Executive Office Marc M. Boutin, JD, has announced his departure to the NHC Board of Directors effective Oct. 9, 2020. The NHC Board has named Eleanor Perfetto, PhD, MS, current NHC Executive Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, as Interim CEO.
“Marc has been an inspirational leader for the NHC, taking the organization to new heights in membership and public policy and advocacy accomplishments,” said Ann Palmer, President and CEO of the Arthritis Foundation and Chair of the NHC Board. “The NHC is a sound organization because of his efforts and has a solid succession plan. I, and the entire NHC Board, wishes him the best of luck in his new position.”
The NHC Board of directors has also formed a Search and Transition Committee headed by Steven Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of the Sjögren’s Foundation and Immediate Past Chair of the NHC Board. A search firm has not yet been selected.
Boutin assumed the role of CEO at the NHC in March 2015 after serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Policy Development & Advocacy over the past 18 years. He is taking a new position with Novartis as Global Head of Patient Engagement and Advocacy in Basel, Switzerland.
