The Proposed Rule on Drug Rebates

The following statement is from NHC’s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Boutin, JD:
Today’s announcement by Secretary Azar and Inspector General Levinson appears to be a great step toward putting patients first by increasing system transparency and reducing the cost of drugs for our nation’s seniors. While we are still analyzing the proposed rule, sharing drug rebates with patients is a policy concept we have long supported, as rebates can contribute to higher costs. We look forward to working with the administration and others to further lower out-of-pocket costs for patients.
