Micah Nation brings his dedication to patient advocacy, innovative partnerships, and operational excellence to his role as Director of the Executive Office, Board Operations, and Partnership Engagement at the NHC. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Nation has a diverse background spanning project management, health care, consulting, and organizational change. His previous experience includes roles at Oliver Wyman management consulting and WWF’s Global Partnership and Multilateral Engagement team, where he gained invaluable expertise in managing global projects, fostering partnerships, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments, with a particular focus in executive operations.
Prior to joining the NHC in March 2024, Nation held positions at NYU Hospital within the Chairman’s Office of Orthopedic Surgery, NY Presbyterian Hospital, BNY Mellon, and Barclays. These roles equipped him with a deep understanding of the importance of a patient-centric approach, which now guides his efforts to enhance the patient experience and prioritize their voices in NHC endeavors. He eagerly anticipates collaborating with the executive leadership team to support the CEO’s strategic plan for 2025-2030 while supporting vital board operations through governance activities. He is committed to driving meaningful change and progress within the organization to amplify the NHC’s voice, increase partnership engagement with patient organization leaders, and further NHC’s impact on the health care landscape. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Long Island University and a Project Management certification from Cornell University.
Nation is a fervent jazz, soul music, and performing arts enthusiast. He finds fulfillment in exploring culinary delights, international travel, and his passion for sports. During his downtime, he treasures moments spent with his daughter and wife in Maryland.
