NHC Updates Health Leadership Conference, Prepares Conference App for Attendees as Long-Awaited Event Draws Near

A long-awaited celebration of patient advocacy and peer networking is only 12 days away as the National Health Council (NHC) is making final preparations for the 2022 Health Leadership Conference (HLC) in Coral Gables, FL.
Next week, the NHC will roll out its HLC event app, making it available to download for registered attendees. The app is a useful tool to help attendees navigate through the Conference, including content on featured sessions, speakers, conference sponsors, and more. App users can set up their own detailed profiles, allowing them to interact with others at the Conference.
Taking place from Tuesday, May 3 to Thursday, May 5, the NHC has prepared a dynamic and informative event schedule to keep you and your team engaged from the opening evening “NHC Family Reunion” kickoff event to the Closing Keynote Speaker, Dr. Daniel Kraft, Chair of the XPRIZE Pandemic Alliance Task Force. His closing presentation, “The Future of Health and Medicine – Embracing Disruption, Technology, and New Pathways for Optimizing Patient Health,” will interpret the realities and silver-linings of the pandemic period and give insights into our “post COVID-19 world.”
The Conference will also explore the furthering of inclusionary practices and diversity in clinical trials, with Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron, a physician executive, patient advocate, executive coach, and transformative change agent, during her Wednesday morning session called “Building the Future of Health: An Equity Lens.”
This topic will be discussed further during the day’s afternoon session, “How NHC Strategic Priorities Inform Clinical Trial Improvement,” with moderator Leah McCormick Howard, Interim CEO, National Psoriasis Foundation, as well as panelists Lilly Stairs, Board Chair, Autoimmune Association, and Pat Furlong, President & CEO, Patient Project Muscular Dystrophy.
Other can’t miss events, include a session with Allison Grayson, Director of Policy Development and Analysis at the Independent Sector called “Interpreting the Landscape for Nonprofit Health Organizations.” Grayson will provide revealing insights from Independent Sector’s recent report, Health of the U.S. Nonprofit Sector.
Attendees also will have the opportunity to share lessons learned, best practices, pitfalls, “ah ha” moments, and more during an energetic and fun “Show and Tell” session.
