New NHC PCORI Award! A Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Achieving Patient-Centered Core Impact Sets
By: Silke Schoch, Senior Manager, Research & Programs
The National Health Council (NHC) is excited to announce it was recently awarded the Eugene Washington Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Engagement Award. This award will facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue to socialize the Patient-Centered Core Impact Sets (PC-CIS), a project launched by the NHC in 2021.
The PC-CIS is a patient-prioritized list of impacts that a disease and/or its treatments have on patients and families (e.g., career/family stress, out-of-pocket costs, work loss). The PC-CIS can be created for a specific disease, related diseases, or population. The NHC has engaged experts in the field of patient centeredness and outcomes to develop the PC-CIS Blueprint to help researchers answer the question “what disease and treatment impacts are most important to patients?”
Through this virtual multi-stakeholder dialogue meeting, the NHC will socialize the concept of the PC-CIS and conduct a public comment period to review the PC-CIS Blueprint. We encourage patients, caregivers, patient advocates, medical product developers, value assessors, academics, and others interested in patient engagement to join the dialogue and provide comments on the PC-CIS Blueprint.
Stay tuned for a Save-the-Date and webinars that will lead up to the virtual dialogue event!
If you have any questions or wish to be added to the invitation list, please email NHCprograms@NHCouncil.org.
This dialogue is funded through a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute® (PCORI®) Eugene Washington PCORI Engagement Award (EASCS-24850).
