Breast Cancer Awareness Month: NHC Member American Cancer Society Works to Beat Cancer Everyday
By: Alicia Pinckney, Senior Coordinator, Marketing Communications
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which shines a light on how to fight to end breast cancer and the effects it has on people’s lives. There are many resources that help you learn about and show support for people with the illness.
For cancer-related organizations, the work they do does not just happen during the month of October. The National Health Council member, the American Cancer Society works every day to free the world from cancer by funding and conducting research, sharing expert information, supporting patients, and spreading the word about prevention. All so you can live longer and better lives.
From large-scale traditional walks to unique local experiences and celebrations, the American Cancer Society’s campaign “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” has united communities, companies and individuals across the country by creating walks in the fight to end breast cancer for more than two decades. You can lead a team, join an existing team, or participate individually. In addition to organizing walks, you can help raise money for “Making Strides” by becoming a Facebook fundraiser, sending emails and texts.
This October help the American Cancer Society in their fight to end cancer.
