Engage with NHC Connect: Your Community, Your Voice, Your Impact
By Bob Scott, Director, Membership Operations
On NHC Connect, National Health Council (NHC) member organizations are exchanging ideas, sharing resources, and coordinating work across the patient community. Since going live in June 2024, the platform has grown, with the launch of an all-member community and a set of focused spaces where members connect around policy, health equity, artificial intelligence, and patient engagement.
If you haven’t joined yet, NHC Connect offers a practical way to stay connected to peers, surface questions in real time, and learn how other organizations are navigating shared challenges in a changing health care landscape.
The goal of NHC Connect is straightforward: to support collaboration that advances the lives of people with chronic diseases and disabilities. The conversations and resources shared on the platform help strengthen collective capacity across the patient community and inform work taking place within individual organizations.
Members are encouraged to use NHC Connect in ways that are most useful for their work. That might mean joining discussions related to a specific policy issue, sharing expertise or resources that could benefit others, asking questions about challenges your organization is facing, or connecting with peers working on similar initiatives. Participation helps keep the platform relevant, practical, and responsive to member needs.
Since the initial launch, NHC Connect has expanded to include communities designed around areas of interest identified by members:
All Members Connect serves as a central space for communication and collaboration across NHC member organizations. It supports discussion of cross-cutting issues and shared challenges facing the patient community.
AI Connect brings together members interested in the responsible use of artificial intelligence in health care. The community supports learning, dialogue, and collaboration around emerging applications and implications of AI across the health ecosystem.
Health Equity Connect supports collaboration among organizations working to advance equitable, patient-centered care. Members use this space to share insights, highlight promising approaches, and discuss strategies to reduce disparities and strengthen community-driven solutions.
Policy Connect provides a forum for nonprofit member organizations to coordinate around patient-centered policy priorities. The community supports information sharing, discussion of federal and state developments, and collaboration to expand equitable access to quality health care.
Programs and Patient Engagement Connect focuses on meaningful patient engagement across research, programs, and decision-making. Members use this space to share trusted resources, explore emerging topics, and exchange perspectives on elevating patient voices.
The NHC is committed to maintaining a space where members feel welcome and supported and where engagement leads to practical value. NHC Connect is intentionally member-driven, shaped by how organizations use the platform and what they choose to share.
We encourage all member organizations to explore NHC Connect, join conversations relevant to their work, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the community. Your participation helps strengthen collaboration across the patient field and ensures the platform continues to reflect member priorities.
