Open Enrollment Has Begun: New Changes. Lower Prices. More Qualify.

By: Jennifer Schleman, Assistant Vice President, Marketing & Communications

Through the nearly two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing is clear – everyone needs health insurance that provides access at an affordable price. This is especially critical for those with a chronic condition or disability. That is why the National Health Council is proud to be a Champion for Coverage with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Starting November 1, 2021, and running through January 15, 2022, the ACA health insurance Marketplace is open for enrollment at HealthCare.gov! And those who choose a plan by December 15, 2021, will be covered starting January 1, 2022.

Anyone can shop and select affordable, quality health insurance for 2022 coverage. These are quality, comprehensive health plans that offer doctor visits, emergency care, preventive care, hospital care, and prescription drugs.

New financial help. This year, new changes were made to provide greatly improved financial assistance, which can significantly lower people’s premiums.

Lower prices. Four out of 5 people will be able to find plans for $10/month or less after newly expanded financial assistance.

More people qualify. And with these new changes, millions more people qualify for tax incentives that lower their premiums. Whether you are uninsured, don’t get insurance through your job, or if you are looking to find health coverage at a lower cost – this Open Enrollment Period is for you!
