The National Health Council (NHC) is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive (DEI) workforce.
Our work in this area emerged as a revelation from the health equity work we conducted in 2020 and 2021. All NHC members, especially patient groups, need help with their efforts to shape their internal operations in parallel with their external efforts in driving health equity.
As part of our 2022-2024 Strategic Plan, the NHC has committed to provide the data, tools, and resources for NHC patient group members to identify, inform, and support understanding, alignment, and advocacy on a variety of topics, including DEI.
To that end, the NHC has developed the following report Inclusive Workplaces: Building a Representative Workforce to provide resources and guidance to NHC members on how they can attract and retain a diverse workforce.
