The National Health Council (NHC) and its partners have undertaken a process to create a Blueprint for developing patient-centered core impact sets, or PC-CIS, to address inconsistencies between what is important to patients to the information typically collected in research and care. A PC-CIS is a patient-derived and -prioritized list of impacts a disease and/or its treatments have on a patient and his/her life as well as that of their family and caregivers.

New Report Shows Major Reforms Needed to Ensure Equal Access, Treatment & Dignity for All in U.S. Health Care System
The National Health Council (NHC), the voice of more than 160 million people with chronic diseases and disabilities, today released a new report, Access, Affordability and Quality: A Patient-Focused Blueprint for Real Health Equity, that identified systemic biases and structural disparities in the U.S. health care system that create barriers to quality care for millions of Americans.
Health Equity Policy Proposals
The National Health Council (NHC) historically has engaged in health equity advocacy through much of the work that we do with our members. The national dialogue on equity that emerged in 2020 strengthened our resolve to focus on a more coordinated, mission-focused approach to our health equity work.
